Northwest Watercolor Society 81st Annual International Open Exhibition

Posted by Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass on October 23, 2021 | No Comments

It was a thrill and a honor to receive notice that my painting, “Riding The Wave” was one of 75 paintings chosen by Juror Thomas Schaller for the NWWS 81st Annual International Open Exhibition.

This selection was made from 573 paintings submitted by artists from 11 countries.

Then last night at the online zoom reception it was announced that “Riding The Wave” had placed third in the competition!

I am “over the moon”!

Thank you to Thomas Schaller and to all of you at the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Thank you to Cindy Triplett and Peter Stone for these photos!

This is the first time I have painted vertically with this brush – usually I paint with the substrate flat on the ground or a table.

This was so much fun to do!

Covered myself from head to toes with paint

Very happy with the result – Art & Soul Gallery will be holding a photo competition with prizes involving this painted wall

For more info about the photo competition  please visit Art & Soul Gallery’s Website by clicking here.

There is still time to sign up!

Hi There!

Wanted to check in and say Hi as it has been many months since I have posted anything here.  2020 was quite a year for everyone.  I did get lots of painting time in, focusing on intuitive abstract expressionism in watercolor.  Many of these new works have been posted on my Instagram page.

Looking ahead into 2021 I will continue to show my artwork at Art & Soul Gallery  in Ashland, Oregon where I will be the Featured Artist during the month of September 2021.  My art works are also at The Rogue Gallery in Medford, Oregon on a rotating basis.

Many people are now shopping online more than ever before especially with the covid lock downs.  Wanted to introduce to you my new website feature where I am now offering my original paintings for sale un-matted and unframed.  You can link to see what I am currently offering from the menu on this website or  click here .

Wishing you the best in 2021 and many happy new beginnings!

Please Stay Safe Everyone!

In painting abstractions I see things about myself come out through my choices of forms, colors and brushstrokes.

Honestly, I was amazed when I stood back and really looked at this painting to see how deeply in my subconscious I am being affected by the coronavirus.
