“Springtime Delight”

Posted by Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass on August 12, 2018 | No Comments

In March of 2016 Art & Soul Gallery held a “Spirit Of Spring” show of paintings by the galleries artists.

I created my painting, “Springtime Delight” for that show.

Then I never showed it again, even though I was happy with the painting.

Since it is a tulip themed painting I pulled it out to see if I could show as part of my tulip series.

After looking at it with fresh eyes, as it has been put away for some time, I saw some changes that I felt needed to made.

The before of “Springtime Delight” is on left and the finished painting is on the right, very happy with the results!

Twilight

Posted by Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass on June 14, 2018 | No Comments

Thought it might be time for an update from me, I have been busy!

The tulips were spectacular this year and are now a memory.

Then came the irises, 100’s of them have bloomed.

Many of them are still blooming.

Maybe someday I will paint them, for now I enjoy and photograph them.

Their sweet smell has been intoxicating.

My husky, Siskiyou celebrated his eleventh birthday with Cascadia.

They each enjoyed a cheeseburger burger and a homemade peanut butter dog cookie.

Every year a fawn is born near my art studio – this year it is star-dusted twins!

My tulip series is currently on the back burner,

as I have been working on an exhibit for July at the Art & Soul Gallery.

“Varied Expressions” is a group show with my three gallery partners.

Spring is Here!

The sun is out and my tulips have bloomed.

The new Blumex Parrot Tulips turned out to be exactly what I had ordered.

They have been a delight to watch bloom and to photograph for future painting reference!  Very Inspiring!

On Monday,  I rehung my artwork at Art & Soul Gallery in Ashland, Oregon – here is my new display.

Distractions

Posted by Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass on April 15, 2018 | No Comments

This spring has had some exciting weather!

From beautiful crisp and warm sunny days to stormy rains and snow.

Everyday I take a walk outside in my yard to see the growth of the green things and flowers.

The newly planted tulips are up and beginning to color on their buds.

Watching these tulips grow everyday is an exercise in patience as I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to see them bloom!

In the meantime I have been distracted from working on the large tulip painting that I have written about.

This is easy for me to do as I generally have many projects that I am involved in at the same time.

In addition to that, I have a number of painting”starts” from demonstrating experimental techniques in my art classes just waiting to be finished.

Here are two of those “starts” that I just finished.
