It was a thrill and a honor to receive notice that my painting, “Riding The Wave” was one of 75 paintings chosen by Juror Thomas Schaller for the NWWS 81st Annual International Open Exhibition.
This selection was made from 573 paintings submitted by artists from 11 countries.
Then last night at the online zoom reception it was announced that “Riding The Wave” had placed third in the competition!
I am “over the moon”!
Thank you to Thomas Schaller and to all of you at the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Looking for a fun inspirational watercolor workshop to take this summer?
I will be teaching “Beyond the Brush” :
Experimental Techniques in Watercolor
at the Rogue Gallery in Medford, Oregon
Saturday August 7 & Sunday August 8, 10 am-5 pm.
This workshop is designed for exploring, experimenting and incorporating textural watercolor techniques into your own personal artistic style. Each day will start with a lecture and demonstration about watercolors and texture. We will explore experimental watercolor techniques using items other than a paint brush for texture, including pouring paint through filters.
Wanted to check in and say Hi as it has been many months since I have posted anything here. 2020 was quite a year for everyone. I did get lots of painting time in, focusing on intuitive abstract expressionism in watercolor. Many of these new works have been posted on my Instagram page.
Looking ahead into 2021 I will continue to show my artwork at Art & Soul Gallery in Ashland, Oregon where I will be the Featured Artist during the month of September 2021. My art works are also at The Rogue Gallery in Medford, Oregon on a rotating basis.
Many people are now shopping online more than ever before especially with the covid lock downs. Wanted to introduce to you my new website feature where I am now offering my original paintings for sale un-matted and unframed. You can link to see what I am currently offering from the menu on this website or click here .
Wishing you the best in 2021 and many happy new beginnings!
