Here is my statement about this painting:

This was a fun experiment! Last winter I placed a piece of 300# watercolor paper in a tub and poured a bag of ice on it. It was freezing at night and warming above freezing during the day. I poured watercolor pigment on the ice and waited till the next morning to lift it out. It had totally saturated my painting with color. I then placed a fresh sheet of 300# watercolor paper in the tub and the colorful ice from the last experiment on top of it and again waited a day. That was the beginning of this painting! The effect created a random sprinkling of color with texture and pattern all over the watercolor paper. I then used this as a starting point to create “View From My Hot Tub.”
